My name is Leandro Amorim-Downie and I’m a multidisciplinary filmmaker from Toronto. On this site you can take a quick glance at (or partake in an in-depth stalking of) some of the things I’ve created. Please feel free to take a look around.
Now, as if we were on a bad first date, I’ll continue to talk about me:
In June of 2018 I graduated at the top of my class with a BFA in Film Studies and an honours GPA of 4.070 from Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts. Prior to this, I attended an arts high school where I specialized in the dramatic arts.
I am a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, and over the last few years some of my works have been official selections of film festival's around the world including Cannes, Berlinale, and TIFF.
Trained in traditional as well as in virtual reality filmmaking, I’ve produced narrative content for companies like Warner Bros. Entertainment, and commercial content for companies like Patrón and Ikea. I’ve even produced videos for a popular kids YouTube channel with over 7.3 million subscribers. And don’t get me started on my career as a Twitch streamer…
Over the past few years I’ve spoken on international panels about my craft, travelled the world as a drone operator, assistant directed music videos for some of my favourite artists, and have been mentored by one of Canada’s most iconic filmmakers. Inspired by the work created at Marvel Studios, it is a dream of mine to be an instrumental part of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
